CO-FOUNDER, SENIOR SUSTAINABILITY EXPERT / ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER
She holds a Bachelor's (1997) and a Master's (1999) degree from Istanbul Technical University, Department of Environmental Engineering. She has over 28 years of experience in environmental and social management, sustainability strategy, carbon management, and impact assessment. Throughout her career, Özeren has been responsible for establishing and managing environmental and social management systems in compliance with national legislation as well as international standards such as IFC, EBRD, ADB, and Equator Principles across energy, transport, infrastructure, construction, and industrial sectors.
Between 2014 and 2021, she served as the Environment and Sustainability Director for the Istanbul New Airport Project; in this context, she established and managed all environmental, social, biodiversity, and climate change management systems of the airport in line with international standards. During this process, she developed the program that enabled the terminal and other structures, covering over 2 million m², to receive LEED Gold certification; she also led the preparation of the Climate Change Action Plan for the airport.
Özeren has also provided expertise in greenhouse gas inventory preparation, carbon management systems (ISO 14064), ESIA/ESMP preparation, GRI sustainability reporting, green building, and green facility applications for many national and international infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects. She is the author of the article titled "Istanbul Airport: Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan" published in the 2019 ICAO Environmental Report. Özeren serves as a Co-Founder at SIM Sustainability Innovation Management Consultancy and Construction Inc., providing consultancy services on sustainability strategies, carbon management, environmental and social impact assessment, ESG reporting, and green transformation.
HATİCE ÇİNAR
CO-FOUNDER, SENIOR SUSTAINABILITY EXPERT / ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER
Graduating from Middle East Technical University, Department of Environmental Engineering in 1998, Çinar completed her Master's degree at Ankara University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Environmental Sciences. She has over 27 years of professional experience in sustainability, environmental and social impact management, carbon management, greenhouse gas inventory, corporate sustainability strategies, and international reporting standards (GRI, TSRS, ISSB, IFC, EBRD, GHG Protocol, ISO 14064).
Beginning her career in 1998, Çınar took on critical roles as Environment Supervisor in the BOTAŞ Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline project, Environmental Engineer at Philip Morris Sabancı, and HSE and Quality Manager in the Sabiha Gökçen Airport project. During her long tenure as Environment and Occupational Safety Director at Limak Holding, she coordinated all environmental and social management processes across various sectors such as energy, construction, infrastructure, and food, and led the group's sustainability reporting processes. With over 27 years of experience, she has specialized in corporate ESG governance, carbon management, and international reporting standards (GRI, TSRS, IFC, EBRD).
Çinar serves as a Co-Founder at SIM Sustainability Innovation Management Consultancy and Construction Inc.; she provides consultancy to various institutions on GRI-compliant sustainability reporting, corporate ESG governance, stakeholder analysis, climate change management, and ESIA processes. She is also a TSRS (Turkish Sustainability Reporting Standards) Trainer and serves as an instructor in TSRS case studies and applied training programs within a KGK-approved accredited organization.
